EHC’S DOG PROGRAM
Connection, one step at a time.
In EHC’s Dog Program, young people work with rescue dogs through training and daily care. They practice teaching cues, communicating clearly and responding to each dog’s needs. The program is run by the Equine Healing Collaborative (EHC) and is separate from EHC’s therapy services with horses.

EHC’S DOG PROGRAM · OUR PARTNERS
Guided by EHC. Grounded in care.
We bring people and partners together to help young people and rescue dogs learn and grow.
EHC · Leading through care
EHC leads the program through dog training and everyday care. Young people practice patience, communication and responsibility, with their own strengths to share.
SCAR · A path toward home
South County Animal Rescue (SCAR) is EHC’s rescue partner. Together, we support each dog’s path toward an adoptive home, with the dog’s needs guiding each step.
MCJH · Learning
together
Monterey County Probation operates Monterey County Juvenile Hall, where EHC’s program brings young people and rescue dogs together to learn through training and care.

CONNECTION IN PRACTICE
Learning through
everyday moments.
The program combines dog-training practice, lessons about animals’ needs and care, and activities that keep dogs engaged. Young people practice skills, notice how dogs respond and learn to adjust their approach.
